IIM Calcutta distance MBA

The program has been specially designed by IIM Calcutta for young executives working in ITES sector and having experience of 1 to 7 years. Beside the general management modules the program also covers specially designed modules for ITES professionals relevant for their day to day job, such as Process Quality and Control, Performance Management, process productivity and cost control, strategy execution etc.

Program Delivery

The sessions will be delivered on HughesNet Global Education’s Interactive Onsite Learning platform. The heart of the platform is a powerful user interface that enables large number of geographically distributed students to have a highly interactive ‘one to one’/ ‘one to many’ exchange with a central faculty. The system incorporates live broadcast video; two way audio and data interactivity to enable the students to watch and interact with the faculty live on their PC’s.

Classroom Component: Spread over 40 weeks it consists of 120 instructional Hours through the Interactive Onsite Learning Mode. Faculty from IIM Calcutta will take these modules.

EGMP has been designed for high performing functional managers, who are looking for a transition from a functional role to a general management role. EGMP is equally relevant for those fast-track managers, who have recently taken charge of a general management role, in terms of equipping them with the ability to cope with responsibilities and issues at senior levels through formal management education. Participants of EGMP get an opportunity to develop core business skills and competencies in various functional areas; this would enable them to handle issues involving cross-functional areas. The EGMP brings together participants from diverse backgrounds, skills and experiences; and develops in them cross-functional skills. Eminent faculty of IIMB covers the curriculum. The programme is offered in five phases. The first and third phase of the programme consisting of 1 week each is conducted on-campus. For the second phase and fourth phase consisting of 22 Saturdays, participants from outside Bangalore have an option to attend the classes at select classrooms of Reliance WebWorld outlets located across the cities in India, where the on-campus class is beamed instantaneously.

Programme Delivery :
The programme will be conducted live in the classroom at IIMB. The sessions will be beamed instantaneously across selected cities in India through Reliance WebWorld outlets using Video Conferencing facilities that allows large number of geographically dispersed participants to have highly interactive sessions with Faculty. The system incorporates two-way data and audio-video interactivity.
Those interested in participation may indicate convenient location (IIMB Campus / RWW locations) as indicated in the nomination form. Participants traveling during the programme days can attend the programme at any one of the convenient classrooms, subject to availability of seats. IIMB selects Reliance WebWorld locations provided a minimum of five participants opt for the location.

IIM MBA distance learning

IIM-K was the first institute in Asia to launch an eMEP (Executive Management Education Programme), a distance-learning programme aimed at upgrading the working executive's skills and knowledge.

This programme was started as an experiment, but has grown into a well recognized programme both by employers and working executives. 1000's of working executives have benefitted form this programme.

eMEP programme marked the beginning of IIMK’s Interactive Distance Learning (IDL) activities and IIMK pioneered management education through a synchronous interactive learning mode in the Asia Pacific region.

The programmes have two components; one in which the participant has to take lessons by logging in one of the 300 nationwide network of classrooms. The other component is conducted at IIMK campus at Kozhikode.

IIMK currently offers the following executive education programmes over IDL:

· Executive Education Programme in Strategic Management (eEPSM)

eMAT - Executive Management Aptitude Test
The admission to the programmes is through a nationwide rigorous selection process.
The selection to eMEP is through an entrance examination conducted to assess the basic logical, numerical and verbal ability of candidates, necessary for successful completion of the programme.

The test will be designed and evaluated by IIMK. The test may be followed by an interview for short listed candidates. The contents of the test will be similar to that of the Common Admission Test (CAT),

However, there will be questions on testing logical reasoning in addition to questions for testing numerical, data interpretation and verbal skills of the candidates. The test will be of two-hour duration consisting of three sections. The three separate sections are those which test (i) Numerical ability & Data Interpretation (ii) Verbal ability and (iii) Logical reasoning. Each section will consist of twenty questions. Different questions may carry different weights and there will negative marks for wrong answers.
